Re: Congratulations!

We would like to congratulate you on your successful campaign to become the Leader of the Conservative Party of Canada. We are excited for the direction you will take our party. Andrew Sheer made admirable gains across Canada and we are confident that you will be able to continue to move our party towards governing Canada with a majority.

Our riding, Saint Boniface – Saint Vital in Winnipeg, is uniquely bilingual. We have more francophone Canadians than nearly any other riding West of Quebec. The Honourable Shelly Glover was the MP for our riding from 2008 – 2015 and left our riding in a position to be competitive going forward. We are grateful to Ms. Glover for the work she has done and continues to do in our riding. We have been fighting to win the riding back since Shelly left but so far, we’ve come up short. François Catellier ran against Dan Vandal in 2015 but was unsuccessful. In 2019, Réjeanne Caron ran for us. She was an impressive candidate, being Métis, bilingual, a police officer and a mother. While she was able to secure substantially more votes than Mr. Catellier in 2015, we again lost to the Liberals.

Our riding is winnable and we look forward to making similar gains to what you can do on the national level. We are in the midst of nominating a candidate for the next election and hope that when someone is confirmed that you will support them. We sincerely hope that you are able to find time to visit our riding in the near future and most importantly, during the next election.

We wish you the best of luck as the new Leader! Please do not hesitate to reach out to us for support, assistance or anything else that we can do to help the Party as a whole.
